BASALT (Basalto)

A Traditional Style March with a light melody on the first strain, followed by a Forte that features the lower brass. The trio relies on the woodwinds to carry the theme. The trumpets join in with a counter line on the trio repeat. The lower brass repeats that same counter-melody line on the final strain.

Basalt is also the principal volcanic rock in many oceanic islands, including the island of S. Miguel Acores, Portugal.
